The first day of Spring 2010, my wife and I found ourselves doing an impromptu "Green" clean up mission.
We took a small hike through the nearby woods, and began to pick up trash.
We wanted to do this after the winds of winter and others, who may not care for the environment, had scattered litter on the hillside.
Within 30 minutes of our mission, we picked up bottles, plastic bags, golf balls and other landsite undesirables.
The benefit that we got out of the mission was some sun and exercise.
We looked back at the spot where we hiked and the ground almost looked relieved and seemed to say "thanks."
We need to learn to take care of this beautiful world that God has given us to be stewards of – it is indeed a very beautiful place to live.
