Natural gas is America's energy of the future, and America has been blessed with an abundance of this clean energy.
ReplyDeleteOver the next number of years more coal fired power plants will be shut down and converted to natural gas.
Natural gas is also moving into the transportation sector. Highway trucks, city buses, garbage trucks, Fed Ex and UPS, city cabs and soon family cars will be able to fill at home.
This is good, but can we do better?
In 2011 the EIA states that commercial buildings, industry and the power plants consumed approx. 17.5 Trillion cu.ft of natural gas. America wasted 40%(?) of this energy as exhaust into the atmosphere.
Natural gas to combust safely and cleanly needs excess air of approx 15%. That means that there is a lot of cu.ft of HOT exhaust being blown up chimneys all across the country.
The technology of Condensing Flue Gas Heat Recovery is designed to recover most of that waste energy. This recovered heat can be used as space heating or heated domestic or industrial process or plant washdown water. At a hotel or university it can even be used to heat the swimming pools.
The goal is to help America to consume this energy source to well over 90% energy efficiency.
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Reduced utility bills = Profit
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Reduced global warming
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Reduced CO2 emissions
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Water conservation.
